The Hideout
The Hideout is designed to accommodate those living in small apartments in urban areas. I found that the urban population is expected to double by 2050, as the population increases so does the cost of living. People are having to downsize their lifestyle. Research shows that having too much stuff is the single biggest cause of stress in the home. Since users are living in such a small space, they are doing a variety of activities in one area. People are eating and drinking in their living room either because the couch is more comfortable, or they don't have space for a dinning table set. The Hideout is designed to accommodate those activities, while also helping to manage clutter.
FINDING THE SOLUTION
Ideation of concepts designed around having pull out storage and tables. I needed to consider comfort, ease of use, and maximizing space.
